Zafar is a Senior Partner and Co-Founder of TKC, specializing in Intellectual Property Law. Having started off his career under Senior Counsel in the Supreme Court of India, Zafar also has a firm background in Constitutional Law, Competition, Public Interest Litigation, and Commercial Arbitration. 

Under the tutelage of various Senior Advocates, followed by years of independent practice, Zafar is armed with significant experience before the Hon’ble High Court and various Tribunals, focusing on Intellectual Property Law, Civil and Commercial Litigation and Consumer Protection.

Zafar also maintains a growing Arbitration Practice and sits on the Organizing Committee of the Annual PCA India Arbitration Conference.

Zafar’s practical experience is also enriched by his years of dedicated academia. He pursued his LLM in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London. Zafar also read for the the BCL ad M.Phil in Law from the University of Oxford, where he co-authored a Chapter for a publication by the Office for the Harmonisation of the Internal Market (OHIM) (now the EUIPO). As head of the Firm’s IP Team Zafar regularly advises Client’s on IP transactions and monetisation, as well as IP Enforcement. He also takes a hands-on approach to assisting Start-Ups, MSME and private Clients on IP development and protection.

His prolific background and varied exposure make him a key member of the TKC team, with an ability to approach legal problems comprehensively, across jurisdictions and fields of law. His passion for his Clients, and his keen analytical skills are a driving force behind the Firm’s ability to offer a harmonized, full-service approach.

Zafar has advised many high-profile Clients in areas of commercial litigation and arbitration, and IP strategy and enforcement, including Comic Con India, the Delhi World Foundation, Hero Gaming, Raheja Developers, as well as several start-ups such as Oxford Systematic Reviews (OXSRev), Blockshards Technologies, and Winwire Ventures.
