Amit Singh Chauhan

Founding/Senior Partner

Amit is a Senior Partner and Co-founder of the Firm. He read for his LL.B. at the University of Delhi before pursuing his LL.M. at Harvard Law School and PGDIPR from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. In addition, Amit has pursued Diplomas in Corporate Laws and IPR from the London School of Economics. He is dual qualified attorney with license to practice law in India and the State of New York, U.S.A.

Amit began his under the tutelage of the Solicitor General of India wherein he was closely involved in advising and representing the Government of India, various State Governments and major public sector undertakings. Amit has played a vital role in drafting/advising on certain significant legislations which inter-alia include the Arbitration Amendment Act, 2015 and the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, Ancient Monuments Ordinance etc.

Thereafter, Amit went on to work extensively under one of the leading criminal defense counsels and Senior Advocates in the Delhi High Court and trial courts. Amit was involved in several high-profile cases which interalia included matters regarding allocation of coal blocks, a corruption case involving the Managing Partner of a major phone manufacturer, and a murder case against a sitting Member of Parliament. 

Amit then went on to work for one of the prominent law firms of India where he worked on cases involving the enforcement of foreign Arbitral Awards, money laundering, payment of bribes and breach of Forex regulations to acquire DTH and radio licenses in India, and recovery proceedings for one of the biggest digital storage, multimedia and industrial products companies, arbitration against a PSU with involving claims of approx. USD 350 million.

Amit has a long-standing reputation of service through his experience as Standing Counsel for several institutions, including the North DMC, SDMC, Supreme Court Monitoring Committee, DDA, the Central Pollution Control Board, as well as a pro bono counsel for the Delhi High Court Legal Aid Service Cell.

With his vast and diverse experience, Amit brings a working expertise in diverse areas of law and regulatory frameworks in multiple jurisdictions, including India and the US. He manages a large and diverse client base, dealing with several corporate, civil, and commercial disputes, while maneuvering around situational realities to ensure the best possible outcomes for the firm's clients. Most recently Amit successfully represented a client in arbitral proceedings involving a claim upwards of 200 million USD.
